Carpentry and joinery — First and second fix, staircases, fitted storage and bespoke joinery, made to suit the opening rather than ordered to a standard size. In older Surrey housing, where nothing is square, that is usually the difference between a fit and a gap.
Decorating — Painting and decorating, inside and out. Preparation is most of it: filling, sanding, caulking and priming, so the finish lasts rather than looks right for a fortnight.
