Terms of business
Written to be read. The quote for your job is always the governing document; these are the standing rules behind it.
Who you are dealing with
SG Refurbishments Ltd, registered in England (Companies House 05629554), of 27 High Street, Godstone, Surrey RH9 8LS. "We" and "SG" in these terms mean that company; "you" means the client named on the quote.
Quotes
Every job is surveyed before it is priced, and the price is in front of you before anything starts. A quote states what is included; anything not stated is not included. Quotes are free and carry no obligation.
Changes to the work
Jobs change — walls come down, minds change, buildings surprise everyone. Changes to the agreed work are priced and agreed before that work is done, so the final bill never carries a number you have not seen.
Payment
We do not take deposits: you are not asked for money before work has started. How a job is then invoiced depends on the kind of job — smaller works on completion, longer programmes as the work lands — and the arrangement for your job is stated on the quote. Invoices are payable as stated on them.
Materials
Materials we supply are part of the price on the quote. Where you choose to supply your own — tiles, fittings, a kitchen — we fit what arrives; if a delay or shortfall in client-supplied goods moves the programme, we say so at the time rather than at the end.
Access and working hours
Working hours are agreed with you before the job starts and we keep to them. On commercial jobs the hours and phasing follow the programme agreed for the site — including night and early-morning working where the job calls for it.
Snags and making good
The job includes a walked handover. Anything on the snag list is ours to deal with. Anything that appears later is looked at by the same firm on the same phone number.
Cancellation
If you cancel before work starts there is nothing to unwind — we have taken no money from you. If a job stops part-way through, you pay for the work done and the materials bought for your job up to that point, and nothing beyond it.
Insurance
The firm carries the cover the law requires of a building employer. If you want the detail before work starts, ask the office and it will be put in front of you.
If something goes wrong
Raise it with the office first — most things are sorted with a site visit and a conversation.
