Roofers in Redhill (RH1)

Terrace roofs and the rear addition
On the tight Victorian terraces around the station the roof is not really one roof.
There is the main slope, then the original rear addition running back off it, and between them a valley gutter where the two meet. That junction is where a great many Redhill terrace leaks actually start — a lead valley that has had a hundred and thirty years of movement, or a later repair done in the wrong material over the top of it. The other recurring point is the party wall: a shared parapet or a flashing that was never right, which shows up as damp in an upstairs corner rather than as a drip in the middle of a ceiling. Finding the actual entry point matters more than the covering, because water rarely appears where it gets in.
The interwar and modern stock
The 1930s semis are generally plain clay tile with a straightforward pitch, and on those the usual issue is age doing what age does — nail fatigue, slipped tiles, ridge bedding that has let go. The newer estate roofs are a different conversation again: concrete tile with felt underneath, mostly sound, and where they fail it tends to be at the detail rather than across the field. Flat roofs over garages and rear additions are their own item, and worth pricing in a modern covering rather than a fourth layer of felt.
